Question: Where have EEG-related clinical trials been conducted?

Summary: Present a map that visually displays the distribution of EEG-related clinical trials around the world. (As of March, 2017)

Details: The informatics team and business development at Duke Clinical Research Institute asked if we could identify the cities where EEG-related clinical trials are and were being conducted, and which of these studies are currently recruiting. On March 23, 2017, ClinicalTrials.gov returned 1,444 studies, and our AACT query returned 1,487. We then used Tableau and created a Data Source Custom SQL to join studies on the set of NCT IDs we determined to be EEG- related. select * from studies where nct_id in ( select nct_id from search_studies('%EEG%') union select nct_id from search_studies('%Electroencephalogram%') union select nct_id from search_studies('%Electroencephalography%')) The attachment is a Tableau workbook that presents some graphics related to this request. (If you download it, you'll need to connect to the AACT database through a PostgreSQL connection using the credentials found at the bottom of this AACT website's Connect page. (Note, this use case was initially created in Spring, 2016, and was used as a proof of concept to help design/develop AACT so that we were confident it could respond to this type of request in the future. The url provided links to a website that presents a preliminary version of the visualizations that were first created in May, 2016.)
